The first step is to have your sewer cleaned. If you had roots removed and have reason to believe that your sewer is cracked, we recommend a camera inspection and pipe location to determine the position and severity of the break.
“The problem with roots ain’t just the roots!” Roots look for, and find an existing crack or opening in the pipe. These openings allow not just roots, but ground water and soil to loosen and wash away the bedding around and under the pipe creating an unsupported pipe, pipe sag, and more breaks.
Extremely sagged and unsupported pipe cannot be internally re-pitched, lined or burst so that new pipe can be pulled through. In those cases the bedding must be restored. If there is a minor crack or break in your sewer pipe we can view it, locate it and often times repair it with the latest technology which requires NO DIGGING. We can fix your sewer pipe in much the same way that a doctor repairs a weak or clogged artery by inserting a patch from the inside. This creates less mess, is faster and is much less expensive than digging up your sewer, re-bedding, and replacing it the traditional way.
Whatever the situation, you can rest assured the experts at B. Bohmann Plumbing, Inc. have the training, equipment, and experience needed to keep your system up and running. Water Heaters Page
Water heater: A necessity and a luxury. 30 years ago 30 gallon gas water heaters were common. Today we are replacing mostly 40 gallon heaters with 50’s or the equivalent of 75 gallon heaters. Safety and efficiency of all gas appliances have increased dramatically. One of the tankless heaters we install is 98% efficient!
The empty basement, where the furnace and water heater group around the masonry chimney and only on wash day does anyone do down there, is rare. Today property owners want to maximize the value of every square foot. To do this the chimney vented furnaces and heaters are replaced with units that bring in their own air for combustion in one pipe and exhaust the used air out another pipe through the wall These appliances formerly would have needed the entire basement capacity of air and when the clothes drier went on it frequently sucked air / exhaust right out of the chimney. These appliances not only save on fuel, they help protect lives.
Pipe vibration or banging can also be caused by excess pressure, As water pressure approaches higher pressure it causes more noise and problems in the system. We have pressure gauges to check this and can install pressure reducing valves to keep the pressure down to 50-75 psi.
